Subject: I Agree This Would Be a Far Out Trip...
Its too bad the mix is fuzzy or not so clear. It reminds me of my old Maxell 120's. As I walk down this awesome road of show after show after show on the archive, its hard not to rate all of these shows high. I guess I have become sort of a snob for quality, just like when nug hit the scene and schwag was not worth it anymore. I have changed my D.O.C. to fine soundboards. Killer material here, just needs some remixing effort. If you want to know what I mean or what that sounds like look up brother Charlie "Killer" Miller's uploads. Still another good day of work put in by my favorite band. Peace

Subject: GREAT SET
Wow i still cannot believe that music like this could even EXIST! Grateful dead is easily the most mind-blowing far-out /just plain awesome group ever to have formed. The Transition of all the spacy jams to STELLA BLUE thats epic proportions. It seems like all this life....was just a dream

Subject: Nice find!
Even though this is only a piece of the show, it's the essential piece, with a lot of excellent jamming, some of it unique. The almost ridiculously high energy of Truckin' gives way to a bass solo that seques beautifully into the The Other One. Here's where the true magic of 73 Dead comes into play. After the meltdown jam, but before the Mind Left Body jam, comes a jam with it's own thematic structure that I don't think I've ever heard before. The Dead in this period produced a lot of music that could have led to songs if they'd thought to go back over the tapes and send them to Hunter and/or Barlow to add words. The "Tighten Up" and MLB jams are good examples of this.
Despite some vocal sloppiness in Truckin, and the fact that it's only a partial show, I have to give it 5 stars for the excellent sound and the uniqueness and splendor of the jamming out of The Other One. BTW, no way is this an audience tape. The sound is perfect except for a short patch in the Mind Left Body jam.

MLB is the best of Baron von Toll Booth and The Chrome Nun and the Bob and Jerry show play it to the extreme. First night at the Knickerbocker is a great place to hear the rest of MLB Jam live.
This is 40 minutes of delightful, float upstream, outer space. Thank you for a real good time.

Subject: Nothin' like a good MLB
The Mind Left Body Jam is just intensely, tightly, painfully pretty, as it always is.

Subject: Absolutely killer '73 2nd set
I don't remember whether I've got this in another format, but I want to give a big thanks to the poster. This is an outrageously good, jam-packed second set from 1973. The boys could really lay a great show on a 'hinterlands' crowd outside of the normal touring corridors, and this is definitely one of those. The Denver crowd really got a gem that night.
